The 2015 Coexist Reading Challenge Info and Sign Up Page

I love to read books about different spiritual paths and religions. I want to spend this year learning about different spiritual paths and religions. I have created a reading challenge to help us do just that.

How It Works:

All books read must be nonfiction and about different spiritual or religious paths. They also must all be about different paths. For example, if you choose to read four books each one must be about a different spirituality or religion. So you would read a book about Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam.

Books about general spirituality or specific spiritual practices such as meditation or prayer will also count however they can only be counted once. So you would not be allowed to count two books on meditation. Also if the meditation book is about say, Buddhist meditation, it would count as a Buddhist book.

However, books about different denominations or traditions may be counted. For example, you may read two books on Buddhism if one is about Zen Buddhism and the other is about Theravada Buddhism.

Perhaps you follow a particular religion and want to stay in that religion. I would allow reading all the books about different denominations or traditions. For example, a Christian could read a book about Catholicism, Protestantism, Lutheranism, Mormonism, and so on.

There will be different levels to choose from. You may go up or down a level if you need to.

The Levels:

Level One ~ Curious 1 - 4 books
Level Two ~ Dabbler 5 - 9 books
Level Three ~ Eclectic 10 - 14 books
Level Four ~ Enlightened 15 - 19 books
Level Five ~ Master Teacher 20 or more books

The Rules:

This challenge begins January 1, 2015 and ends Dec 31, 2015. You may sign up anytime during the year.

I'm starting this challenge in March but books read earlier this year may count.

You may include books of any format including traditional books, ebooks, or audiobooks.

Books must be nonfiction.

You may reread books.

Books may count towards other reading challenges.
